Mommy was so ready for this

Last weekend Erin held her bottle in the car for like 5 seconds. So, I know she can do it. It's partially my fault that she's just now holding it. I like to snuggle her when I feed her, so she only has one hand that can hold her bottle. But, today I thought we'd just see what she can do. And, she did it!!! Instead of holding her close, I positioned her so that both hands could reach the bottle. It took a little prompting, but she got the hang of it really quickly. So cute!! Now, maybe she can hold it in the car.

Only Six More Years

Tonight we went to the brand new high school that is in our neighborhood and took a few pictures of Olivia. The idea here is that when Olivia starts 9th grade, this is where she'll go to school. And, when she graduates in 2017 we can put one of the pictures we took tonight in the yearbook kind of as a look back at Olivia on the day before the school first opened its doors.

She is soooo very excited to start third grade. We met her teacher on Friday and we all like her. She told Olivia, "I remember you. We met at the pep rally." Olivia likes to sing in front of the entire school from time to time at the pep rallies. Hopefully we'll soon have some pictures from them to share.

Erin Undercover

Since Erin has been sick, I've been putting her on her back to sleep. She typically sleeps in her room and on her tummy. Right now she's in the pack n' play in our room and sleeping on her back. I finally got tired of going up and down the stairs ten times a night. I've discovered that when she sleeps on her back she needs to hold on to something- like a cloth diaper or a blanket. So last night when I laid her down I gave her a cloth diaper. Every time I checked on her during the night she had that thing covering her face. Talk about making mom nervous! I kept pulling it down, but inevitably she'd pull it back up before the next time I'd check on her. Tony says it's as if Erin is saying "can't a girl get some sleep around here!?"

Tropical Storm ERIN

Well... we knew this one was coming. At least it's not a big storm that everyone will remember. I'll have to save this for Erin to see when she gets a little older. Maybe she'll be just as amazed as I am that five months after she was born, there was a storm with her name. Just what we all want! This picture was taken at North Padre Island on August 15th, 2007 and I have no idea who those people are. I found it online.

Squeals for the Puppy

I can't believe how much Erin loves Roxy and Camille. Right before I took this video I was in the bedroom and Mom and Erin were in the living room. I could hear the most amazing giggles and squeals coming from Erin. So, what do I do? I ran looking for the camera and started filming. Of course, she was no longer giving the uncontrollable laughter, but what I did catch is still so sweet. Roxy is at my feet during most of the video and Erin is watching her. I can't help but wonder what's going through her mind. I'm sure it really is quite funny to see something that doesn't resemble a human that walks on four legs.

She's Talking to You, Grandpa!

Droooly Baby

This baby drools more than any baby I've ever seen. A couple of times she has drooled so much that the back of her neck gets wet! Yikes! Anyway, you can't so much see that kind of drool here, but once she gets a toy in her mouth be prepared to wipe some drool. No teeth yet...everyone tells me she must be teething. If she is, I can't see or feel anything. I wonder which will come first- hair or a tooth??

Jailbird Jammies

Since Erin has started flipping onto her back during the night, we had to buy her some new jammies. She had the kind that are all one piece and snap or zip up the front, but I don't like her laying on the snaps and zippers. These are a t-shirt and pants- two separate pieces that don't snap or zip. All that I could think of when I saw her in them was that the stripes are definitely going the wrong way! She has plump little thighs and these pants make them look even bigger....and I suppose pulling them up so high doesn't really help either. She's our little sugar!
